Teachers and Coaches within Garioch ASC are dedicated to offering a tremendous opportunity to any swimmer involved with the club. The entry level of the club is such that young swimmers can already swim and show good application of the skills they have learned.

The initial priority is to significantly improve basic swimming skills on all four strokes in preparation to swim competitively to the best of their ability.

The fundamental principles that are the basis for Garioch Swimming Teaching and Coaching practices are explained with the maxim:

“Practice does NOT make perfect, but “PERFECT PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT”

There are four main strokes in swimming; there are seven different types of competitive turns and there are 48 different events on the World Championship programme for swimmers. Swimming is a complex sport; it is a way of life that offers a tremendous opportunity to young people.

All Teachers and Coaches have qualifications that allow them to work poolside and Garioch ASC are continuously looking for ways to progress the qualifications and experiences of those people already involved and encourage newcomers of like mind to come poolside and embrace the world of swimming fully as a teacher and / or coach.
